                         mostrar o comportamento das OEs em fevereiro de 2005, quando houve 
                         ocorr{\^e}ncia de intensa seca no sul, sudeste e centro-oeste do 
                         Brasil. Foram utilizados dados de geopotencial de rean{\'a}lise 
                         NCEP-DOE e de precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o do GPCP. Foi observada uma 
                         grande amplifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o da onda 3 que atuou intensificando 
                         a circula{\c{c}}{\~a}o anticicl{\^o}nica no sul da Am{\'e}rica 
                         do Sul, e esteve associada a um evento de bloqueio. ABSTRACT: 
                         Quasi-stationary waves can be observed in the mean state of the 
                         atmosphere. The objective of this study is to show the behavior of 
                         these waves during February 2005, when an intense drought occurred 
                         in southern, southeastern and central Brazil. NCEP-DOE reanalyses 
                         data and GPCP data were used in the study. A strong 
                         intensification of wave 3 was observed, which was related to the 
                         intensification of an anticyclonic circulation over southern South 
                         America and was associated with a blocking situation..",
