| Resumo | Atmospheric blocking are systems that inhibit precipitation, they prevent the systems transient step into the South American continent. But can they contribute indirectly to the rains that occur in the Northeast of Brazil? This question was raised because of the daily observation of the behavior of rainfall in the Northeast, in order to be a region with sparse rainfall regime. A blocking pattern persisted during the second half of April on the south-central Brazil, inhibiting precipitation systems in this region. By contrast, the East of Northeast region was endowed with significant accumulated rainfall in the same period. A little before the occurrence of such a system in the Northeastern region showed a pattern very dry with low humidity and levels of water reservoirs well below the desirable level for public consumption. In this scenario, the objective of this work is to identify the mechanisms that drove the occurrence of rainfall after a dry period as this region if the blocking pattern influenced the rainfall occurred or if other factors were more important for this case. It is worth noting that this is a study of a specific case, but future studies we intend to analyze several cases to find out if there is a regularity of this pattern, in order to identify with a certain advance the occurrence of rainfall for this region becomes is crucial for various sectors of society. | |||
