| Abstract | Este trabalho apresenta uma análise da ocupação intraurbana em Altamira (PA), em 2000 e 2010, baseada na interpolação dasimétrica de dados de domicílios dos censos demográfi cos. A menor das unidades de divulgação desses dados, os setores censitários, são delimitados em cada levantamento censitário a partir de critérios operacionais, o que difi culta a realização de estudos de comparação temporal. Além disso, a delimitação dos setores não necessariamente é a mais adequada para fi ns de planejamento urbano. A presente análise propõe superar essas difi culdades ao adotar o recorte espacial de bairros delimitados a partir dos loteamentos e ocupações que os originaram e analisar as transformações na distribuição dos domicílios a partir dessas unidades. Os resultados obtidos mostram o crescimento desigual da cidade. Os bairros a sudoeste da cidade apresentaram maior crescimento de domicílios em termos absolutos, seguidos dos bairros novos localizados em áreas mais periféricas. Observou-se também o decréscimo no número de domicílios nos bairros da área central. Por outro lado, a intensidade da ocupação estimada, expressa pela densidade de domicílios, mostrou-se relativamente baixa (média dos bairros de 12 domicílios/ha e máximo de 36 domicílios/ha), sendo que as maiores concentrações foram encontradas nos bairros da área central e das áreas de ocupação irregular das margens de corpos dágua e áreas alagadiças. ABSTRACT: This paper presents an urban analysis of Altamira (PA) between 2000 and 2010, based on dasymetric interpolation of census data. The smallest Brazilian demographic data dissemination unit - census tract - is usually delimited based on operational criteria. Temporal comparison is aff ected by diff erences in sectors limits that may vary between decennial censuses. In addition, geographic boundaries of census tracts often are not appropriate for urban planning purposes. This work proposes to overcome these diffi culties by adopting neighborhoods bairros as spatial units of analysis. These spatial units were defi ned based on allotments and occupations that originated the neighborhoods. Temporal comparison of households distribution highlighted an uneven growth in the city. In absolute terms, the neighborhoods in the southwest part of the city presented the highest increase of households units, followed by new neighborhoods in the outskirts of the city. It was also observed a decrease in the number of households in central area. On the other hand, the intensity of the estimated occupation, expressed by households density, was relatively low (an average of 12 households/ha and a maximum of 36 households/ha). Highest densities were found at neighborhoods located in central area and at illegal occupations areas in wetlands and banks of water bodies. | |||
