Resumo/Abstract	(?)	M�todos de infer�ncia s�o utilizados para produzir novas informa��es espaciais a partir da integra��o de dados. A infer�ncia Bayesiana utiliza o teorema de Bayes para atualizar o conhecimento pr�vio de um evento (probabilidade a priori) considerando uma nova evid�ncia (probabilidade condicional), permitindo que se tenha um racioc�nio plaus�vel baseado no grau de confian�a (probabilidade a posteriori). Redes Bayesianas s�o modelos que empregam a infer�ncia Bayesiana e s�o definidas em termo de um grafo ac�clico direcionado que representa as vari�veis do modelo e suas depend�ncias condicionais. As redes Bayesianas s�o capazes de inferir a probabilidade de ocorr�ncia de um determinado fen�meno espacial baseado na observa��o destas vari�veis. Neste sentido, este trabalho prop�e uma abordagem de redes Bayesianas para identificar �reas potenciais � expans�o da cana-de-a��car nos estados de Goi�s e Mato Grosso do Sul. Esta problem�tica � abordada devido � intensa demanda por etanol que tem impulsionado a expans�o da cultura de cana-de-a��car em dire��o ao bioma Cerrado. O e-BayNeRD algoritmo (enhanced Bayesian Network for Raster Data) foi utilizado para identificar as �reas mais adequadas � expans�o da cana-de-a��car. O e-BayNeRD � um m�todo baseado na observa��o de dados raster (dados em formato matricial) e capaz de incorporar o conhecimento do especialista nas an�lises. O m�todo considera fatores restritivos � expans�o da canade- a��car como topografia, aptid�o do solo, condi��es clim�ticas e infraestruturas dispon�veis para indicar �reas sustent�veis e logisticamente apropriadas para expans�o da cultura. O resultado do m�todo � uma imagem de probabilidade, a qual pode ser utilizada para direcionar a expans�o da cana-de-a��car para �reas com maior potencial. Os resultados mostraram que os modelos de redes Bayesianas propostos foram capazes de representar a tend�ncia de expans�o da cultura, visto que a maior parte das novas �reas plantadas ocorreu em regi�es que o modelo atribuiu com probabilidade superior a 70.
