Much has already advanced with various interfaces, but high thermal residual stress is a persistent problem. This work proposes a vanadium carbide (VC) intermediate layer deposited by laser cladding. We adjusted laser cladding parameters for VC deposition to form a multi-layer with VC cross-section of up to 25 μm thick.
