A inclusão do TMC melhorou o perfil do vento. ABSTRACT: The objective of the study was to evaluate the performance of the precipitation simulations of the Eta model using two versions of the Kain-Fritsch cumulus parameterization scheme. The effects of Convective Momentum Transport (CMT) were included in one of the versions. Comparison between Eta model precipitation simulations and the estimated satellite precipitation data from the CMORPH (CPC MORPHing Technique) were carried out. A case of intense precipitation over southeastern Brazil was selected for the Eta models rain simulations. The skill of the model was evaluated by the ETS (Equitable Threat Score) and BIAS. The Skill based on the Equitable Thread Score (ETS) showed that, for both 48-hour and 72-hour simulations, the version with CMT scored higher for light and moderate precipitation. For intense precipitation, the two scheme versions scored similarly. The BIAS score showed that the simulations underestimated the moderate and intense precipitation. The version with CMT showed less underestimate in the intense rates. The inclusion of the CMT improved the wind profile. |
