             abstract = "In this work the process of interception of gross rainfall by the 
                         vegetative cover of Amazonian Rainforest in terra-firme forest is 
                         studied. The Rutter numerical model are used for the simulation of 
                         the process in obtaining of a medium value of the interception 
                         loss in the region. In addition an observational experiment is 
                         conducted to get the interception loss of two difterents points in 
                         the Amazonia: one in the Reserva Biol{\'o}gica do Jaru in 
                         Ji-Paran{\'a}lRO, Amaz{\^o}nia Ocidental and the other in the 
                         Reserva da Vale do Rio Doce in Marab{\'a}lPA, Amaz{\^o}nia 
                         Oriental. The model is compared with the experimento The resulls 
                         obtained with the modelling process indicated a behaviour very 
                         similar to the observational experiment although with an 
                         overestimated value forthe region. The difterent, however, is 
                         within the errar limit in the determination of the observed value. 
                         For the period studied lhe Rutter model estimated an inlerception 
                         loss equivalenl to 16,9% of the total precipitation for 
                         Ji-Paran{\'a} region and 17% for the Maraba region. With the 
                         observational experiement for the Ji-Paran{\'a} 12,5% of 
                         interception loss was observed during the period (August 1992 to 
                         July 1993). In Maraba the interception represented 13% of the 
                         gross rainfall during the period September 1992 to June 1993.",
