propriedades hidrof{\'o}bicas e gelof{\'o}bicas.
gotas contra a superf{\'{\i}}cie.
superf{\'{\i}}cie hidrof{\'o}bica testada e aproximadamente 6,4
vezes superior em uma superf{\'{\i}}cie hidrof{\'{\i}}lica
testada.
nanotubos. ABSTRACT: This present work aims to analyze the
behavior surfaces of Vertically Aligned Carbon Nanotubes when
subjected to water freezing conditions. In order to characterize
such surfaces with as to their behavior in the formation of ice
and relate their hydrophobic and ice-phobic properties. The
Wettability tests included analyzing the angle contact surfaces,
the behavior of hysteresis and the impact of the droplets on the
surface, where all tests were performed in different temperatures.
The ice-phobic tests, on the other hand, aimed to measure the
necessary time to freeze a droplet on the cold surface, freeze of
condensed atmospheric steam and freeze on dynamic impact
situations of droplets. Thus, the super hydrophobicity of the
nanotubes was observed at room temperature with contact angle of
169\˚ and the hydrophobicity reduction was due to reduction
of the surface temperature. The Nanotubes surface lost super
hydrophobicity characteristic at 15º C having contact angles near
to 115º at a temperature of 2º C. In the freezing time test, the
best result showed the need of 1036 seconds to freeze a drop on
the surface of nanotubes at -10º C, a time approximately 3.4 times
longer than the time necessary for freezing under the same
conditions on a tested hydrophobic surface, and ~ 6.4 times higher
in a hydrophilic tested surface . All tests, however, showed
fragilities on nanotubes hydrophobicity and ice-phobic under
condensation events.",
